In the French city of Lyon, an Orthodox priest was shot in front of a church. The cleric was seriously injured in the attack, reported the AFP news agency. The perpetrator is on the run.
Meanwhile, French security forces after the latest Islamist attack arrested three alleged accomplices in Nice in which a Tunisian killed three people in a church. After a 47-year-old surrendered on Thursday, police arrested two other men. One of the two is said to have been in contact with the terrorist shortly before the crime in which a victim was beheaded.
On Friday, Muslims again demonstrated in Ottawa and Toronto against the allegedly Islamophobic policies of Canada. Around 60 people gathered in front of the Parliament buildings. On Thursday, 150 people chanted “Allahu Akbar” at a similar rally in Toronto.
