Soldiers from Islamic Azerbaijan continue to advance in Artsakh

The soldiers of the Islamic government in Azerbaijan, backed by Islamic State fighters, broke the agreed ceasefire in the north of the Christian republic of Artsakh and invaded three villages. The Christians in the occupied villages, especially women, children and the elderly, are on the run and are trying to get to safety from the persecution by the Islamic soldiers.

The religious war between the advancing soldiers of the Islamic government in Azerbaijan and the Christians defending their homeland in the Republic of Artsakh in the Caucasus continues unabated. On December 12, 2020, Azerbaijani troops attacked and occupied three villages in Nagorno-Karabakh. In addition to ground troops, Azerbaijan has also used artillery and has advanced ten kilometers into Christian territory. The almost exclusively Christian inhabitants of the villages, especially women, children and the elderly, are on the run and are trying to get to safety from the persecution by the Islamic soldiers.

The occupied villages of Dizapait, Hin Tacher and Chzabert are part of the Republic of Artsakh according to the armistice agreement of November 9th. The demarcation line was accepted as binding between Armenia and Azerbaijan under Russian mediation. The Islamic government of Azerbaijan has broken this ceasefire four times since then, occupying Christian territory by force and driving out the Christians living there who had not already fled.

Reports of atrocities committed by the Islamic soldiers of Azerbaijan against Christian soldiers and above all civilians (an example here) are increasing, so that some villages not far from the demarcation line have been evacuated by the Artsakh government except for defending soldiers.

At a military parade a week ago, the Islamic President of Azerbaijan Aliev and his guest of honor, the Turkish despot Erdogan, walked in lockstep from the troops and announced that the Islamic offensive against the Christians living in the region was far from over. Not only the Republic of Artsakh is to be occupied by Islam, “Zangezur, Sevan, the Yerevan Khanate – are also our historical areas.”  Aliev announced that his troops would march into Armenia with the active support of Erdogan, who celebrates the genocide committed against the Armenians by the Ottomans in 1915.
