The African American lawyer Kristen Clarke will be leading the powerful human and civil rights section in the US Department of Justice when Joe Biden comes to power. Doubts about her qualifications are increasing – she is said to have made bizarrely racist statements against whites.
Conservative TV commentator Tucker Carlson comes to this conclusion: “Clarke says her job is simple: End hate. But like so many in her world, Clarke is actually an enthusiastic purveyor of what she claims to fight.” An investigation has revealed “shocking” – and he did not use this word lightly – statements.
Is Clarke a left-wing black racial theorist?
For example, Clarke is said to have written a letter to the editor in 1994 for the student newspaper at Harvard University – she studied at the elite university – in which she made racist resentment clear. In this letter she referred to her “findings”, which would help in the search for “genetic differences between blacks and whites.” That would, if it came from a white academic, cause a scandal.
Her thesis: The locus coeruleus, the “core of the brain”, is black because it contains large amounts of neuro-melanin, which is also responsible for dark skin. Furthermore, black babies sit, stand, crawl and walk faster than white toddlers. Third, melanin levels control central processes in the human brain. This material would also give blacks “their superior physical and mental abilities.” All of which is, of course, just pure bunk and the magical thinking of an uneducable individual.
“Superior mental, physical, spiritual abilities”
These three statements alone would be enough to leave many people speechless. But it goes even further. In her letter, Clarke insinuated that whites were unable to produce melanin because they had “dysfunctional or calcified pineal glands”. Apparently melanin confused the lady there with the hormone melatonin, which controls the sleep-wake rhythm. If you are thinking “How did this individual graduate from Harvard??” then join the club. Most likely her degree is due to two factors: the number of her X chromosomes and the colour of her skin.
Nevertheless, she sees in the alleged maloperation the “chemical basis for the cultural differences between blacks and whites”. Last but not least , she claims that melanin gives black people “superior mental, physical and spiritual abilities”. However, this is “not measurable according to Eurocentric standards.” Probably not by any other standard either – except possibly the standards created solely to “prove” her barely comprehensible statements.
Controversial statements did not remain an isolated case
Carlson commented on the incredible quotes with disbelief: “The above is not an editorial from the Final Call, Louis Farrakhan’s free newspaper. That is a direct quote from the person Joe Biden is about to put in charge of this country’s civil rights laws.” He recalls that “Even at Harvard, crackpot theories like that were considered deranged and dangerous.”
According to Carlson, this was by no means an isolated case. As president of the “Black Students’ Association”, she shortly afterwards invited an avowed anti-Semite from Trinidad and Tobago to the campus. In a manifesto, he had fabulated about an “escalating Jewish onslaught” on blacks. Clarke, on the other hand, described him as a “intelligent, well-versed Black intellectual” who bases views on “indisputable facts”.
Views supposedly unchanged, only “more demanding”
Carlson says Biden’s designated head of the human rights section that she has never really given up these views: “They’ve simply become more sophisticated.” Only last year she had fought for the “crudest kind of racial discrimination” in admission to the course.
At the time, she described it as “madness” that the Trump administration had sided with students of Asian origin who were denied access because of their skin color. In a “sane country,” Carlson said, the Civil Rights Division would target people like Clarke rather than headed them. He hopes that her nomination will still fail due to the Senate veto.
