Amidst the ruins of a long lost town,
Where nature reigns and wolves now roam at ease,
A hunter roams with bow and arrow prone,
In search of prey, across the forested seas.
He stumbles on a fragment from the past,
Of once proud rule, now lost and overthrown,
With words that sing of a “Queen Victoria, none surpassed,
Ruler of seas and lands, nowhere unknown.”
The hunter stands, with wonder in his eyes,
And thinks of all the power that once was here,
The might of men, and their immortal ties,
Now gone, forever lost, and buried by the years.
He wonders, with a smile and a shake of his head,
What secrets lay hidden in this wild, forgotten bed.
